Terms of Use
By using Stillmark Note you agree to these terms. They are short because the app is simple: your notes stay on your device.
- Your notes stay on this device and belong to you.
- The developer can't see, back up or recover them.
- Keeping a backup of what matters is up to you.
Your notes belong to you
Everything you write is saved as plain Markdown files on this device. You own your notes and are responsible for what you keep in them.
No account, no data collection
Stillmark Note makes no network connections and collects no data. The developer can't see, collect, back up or recover your notes.
Keeping copies is up to you
Notes exist only on this device and in copies you make: Automatic Backup, Export All Notes (.zip) or an iPhone backup. Deleting the app, or resetting or losing your device, can permanently erase notes that aren't backed up.
Locked folders
Locking a folder hides its notes in Stillmark Note until you unlock them with Face ID or your passcode. The files aren't encrypted: they can be opened in the Files app by anyone using your unlocked device.
Location, camera and photos
Your location is read only when you choose to add it to a note, and is written into that note as coordinates. Photos and scanned text are saved with your notes. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Fonts
Bundled fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License. See Settings › Help › Font Licenses.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change with app updates. The current version is always in Settings › Help.
